Mr. Tucker's Page

Mr. Tucker is in his twenty-ninth year as a teacher at West Stanly High School. A 1991 graduate of WSHS, Mr. Tucker attended college at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte where he received a BA in English, a BFA in Theatre and a BA in Theatre Education. Returning to WSHS to join the staff in 1997, Mr. Tucker replaced his long-time mentor, James D. Kennedy, as director of the West Stanly Players. In addition to a K-12 certified theatre teacher, Mr. Tucker also is certified in 9-12 English. He currently serves as the Chair of the Cultural Arts Department and is a mentor teacher for two new, beginning teachers at WSHS. He also serves as the advisor for the West Stanly Middle School Drama Club. Since 2008 he has hosted arts camps during the summer to teach children 6-12 the importance of the arts in education. As director and club sponsor of the West Stanly Players he and his students produce three shows a year in addition to the West Stanly Middle School Drama Club production.  Mr. Tucker is a lifelong proud Colt and is involved in all aspects of education and activities at West Stanly.
