Athletic Event Safety Protocol Notice

SCS families: we need your help in making sure all Stanly County Schools’ athletic events are safe and secure. With that goal in mind, we will be tightening security at all games beginning immediately.

  1. No elementary or middle school student(s) should be dropped off and left unattended. Middle school students may remain after school for middle school events as long as the school is providing supervision and written permission has been received from a parent.

  2. All spectators are expected to be in their seats during the athletic event with the exception of trips to concessions or restrooms.

  3. Law enforcement and SCS staff will be on site to address any potential disruptions that occur.

  4. Entrance procedures may include the use of walkthrough / handheld metal detectors.

  5. There will be no re-entry to the game after exiting the stadium / school building.

  6. Prohibited items include, but are not limited to

    1. Weapons (including pocket knives), vapes, tobacco products, lighters, etc.

  7. The Stanly County School District reserves the right to deny entry to any athletic event for any person who fails to comply with these procedures.

New Bag Procedures

Fans are encouraged not to bring any type of bags inside Stanly County Schools’ stadiums and gymnasiums for athletic events; however, the following bags are permitted:

  • Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12" x 6" x 12";

  • Small clutch bags, with or without a handle or strap, that do not exceed 4.5" x 6.5" (approximately the size of a hand).

  • An exception will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection.  Diaper bags are permitted as long as the child is in attendance.

  • Any bag brought to the athletic event  may be subject to be searched before entry into the stadium.

Thank you for your cooperation and support of SCS athletics.
