WSHS Tri-M Chapter 4093

What is Tri-M?

The Tri-M Music Honor Society is a program of the National Association for Music Education (NAfME), which focuses on creating future leaders in music education and music advocacy inside schools and in the community.
Tri-M is the only music honor society for middle school and high school students in United States.
Tri-M recognizes students that have gone above and beyond both academically and musically.
Tri-M also provides students leadership opportunities to make a difference in their community through music-based service projects.
Students who are interested in joining Tri-M must meet the following criteria:
  • Be in a music class for at least one semester each academic year.
  • Keep a B or higher in their music classes
  • Keep a C or higher in their other classes.

Each spring, students will be allowed to fill out an application for Tri-M. This application includes:
  • Three teacher recommendations
  • Open ended questions
  • A history of performances and community service.

Should a student be accepted into the chapter, they will receive an acceptance form that they will fill out. The student will then be invited to the Induction Ceremony where they will perform a solo and receive their Tri-M pin.
