We are pleased to be moving forward with additional graduation plans for you! While many of you want a face-to-face graduation on August 1st and is still on our calendars, many need closure to their Senior year. On Friday, June 12th the staff will be honoring all West Stanly High School graduates during a graduation ceremony designed to comply with Governor Cooper's Executive Order while celebrating this great accomplishment.
The ceremoney will follow a drive through format. Seniors will exit their vehicle for his/her Principal to award their diploma. Seniors may have two vehicles for family members to accompany them. The vehicles will need to come together!
Family members will watch from the vehicle as their graduate receives his/her diploma. Graduates should wear academic regalia (gowns, caps, tassels, etc.) for the ceremony. Honoring each graduate is important to us so ceremonial music and congratulations from their Principal will be incorporated in the program as students pick up diplomas. We will also have a photographer present for an official picture.
On that day, staff will be on campus to show you where to go as you prepare to graduate. Here are some times we will need you to work with:
Seniors with last name A-F will arrive at 8:40am Graduation drive through will begin at 9:00am.
Seniors with last name G-P will arrive at 9:40am
Seniors with last name Q-Z will arrive at 10:40am.
With over 150 graduating seniors each bringing two vehicles, please adhere to the times. We look forward to seeing you there!!
