Sep - 14 Parent Open House

On September 14 at 5:30, we will have a Parent Open House at the JROTC Classroom.  This is our opportunity to show parents what WSHS JROTC is all about.  We will have a slide show, some light snacks and drinks, and discuss all the things we plan to do this year.  Parents may bring children and cadets may participate as well.  

April 25 - JROTC 5K Run

We are hosting a 5K run with the goal of breaking the Guinness World Record for the most participants in a 5K run (multi-location).  This is a combined effort of all JROTC units in the United States and around the world.  WANT TO BE A PART OF A WORLD RECORD???  If you want to be a part of this AWESOME event, contact SMSgt Zuniga ( nobleline.zuniga@stanlycountyschools.org) or Maj Reed ( wallace.reed@stanlycountyschools.org )

When:  April 25th, 1200 Noon
Where:  Oakboro Park, Oakboro NC
  We're breaking All we need is 101,247 runners to break the current rec

Nov 29 - Locust Holiday Parade

On Saturday from 2p.m. to 4p.m we will be participating in the Locust Holiday Parade.  We have asked parents to drive and meet us in Locust at the Food Lion parking lot on 24/27 roadway and Renee Ford Rd.  This parade will end at the back of town hall(Town Center).

Nov 23 - Renaissance Festival Fund Raiser

This Sunday from 8am to 7pm the Squadron will be volunteering to help collect trash at the Renaissance Festival in Concord.  The cool thing about this volunteer effort is that we will be receiving monies for our participation that will be used to do future field trips.  At minimum we need 16 volunteers.  If our cadets can't do the entire day, they will be afforded the opportunity to work shifts as well.

Nov 21 - Field Day

Our squadron will be traveling to East Montgomery High School on Friday to compete in Field Day Sports and Drill competitions.  The Squadron has a goal to come back with the first place trophy.  I look forward to seeing that happen!!!

Oct 30 - JROTC Fun Night

 (5:00 pm - 8:00 pm)  We will be getting together this Thursday evening with one goal in mind........HAVING FUN!!!  So, if you don't want to have fun...then don't come!  There will be food BYFF style (Bring Your Favorite Food) to share, games, and music.  Each cadet may bring one guest but overall this is intended to be an ROTC night of fun.  If others want to have fun with us then they can join ROTC, Hoooah!
